Dear Laurel, Colleen and David and families, I opened the paper this morning and read of your mom's passing. You have my deepest sympathies. I have been wondering about her again this summer as I have not seen her in a few years up here. I had not heard that she was at the cottage and didn't know where she was. I love your mom. I have such wonderful memories of my young years at the lake that include her and all of you and of course, Steve. It was a very good time in my life. I feel badly we have all lost track of one another. Your mom was always so fun and so kind to me, like another mom at the lake. I want you to know she meant a great deal to me. My most heartfelt condolences to all of you and my love. Judy

Dear David, Colleen, and Laurel, I was so sad to see your mom's lovely face in the paper yesterday, and to also read that Steve has passed away. It brought back so many memories of our childhood. Your family was like an extension of ours. I have wonderful memories of the cottage and of all of you. David, remember when you were lying on the floor in front of the TV and every one jumped over you except for me? I fell and hit my head on the TV and ended up with stitches. I still have that scar. I remember Colleen coming to see me and us spending time in my bedroom reading Katie Keene comic books. I remember Laurel as a tiny baby and little girl. My dad passed away in 1995 and mom died in Feb of 2009. So many dear ones in our lives are gone now! Cris lives in GR and Linda lives in Indiana on the Kentucky boarder. I live close to White Cloud and work in Big Rapids. I drove passed the houses on Dorroll St. a few weeks ago and things seem so small and cramped. Not like I remember them from our youth! And the drug store is now a liquor store! Well, I just had to let you know that I remember you all so well. Hugs, your old neighbor, Cathy

Dear Laurel, David and Kathy, I wanted you to know that we are all thinking of you at this time. I always enjoyed your mom's sweet smile and happy desposition. She was so proud of her family and I know she loved you all, and her grandchildren dearly.I remember that she loved to read, always had a book near by, and especially loved Romance Novels. I'll bet that kept her young. Many Blessings to you all, Kim and Doug Young and Family

Dear David,Colleen,and Laurel,
I wanted to extend my sincere sympathy to you and yours at the loss of your Mom.
I was surprised and saddened to find out that Steve has also passed.I will never forget when I made whipped cream for a dessert and put in salt instead of sugar. Steve came over and took a big spoonful and promptly spit it out! He was so surprised because I was not the kind to play practical jokes.
Laurel I remember babysitting for you and have pictures of you all in my albums.
And I seen Kathy Berry also wrote to you. We had great fun all of us together.
My mom is 94 and living at Ambrose Ridge in GR. I am visiting her for the summer but live in Lakeland, FL. You have my email, elly5798@hotmail.com, and when you feel up to it just drop me a note. Pass my email onto Kathy Berry if you get the chance. We were all good neighbors and yes the neighborhood looks small, different...time has passed as it does without our consent. Peace and blessings,
Eleanor Jacobs

Dear Dave and Kathy, and Colleen and Laurel
Just wanted to send my condolences on the passing of your mother. Dave, little did I know that playing basketball with you (in your younger days) would lead to the honor of getting to know and enjoy your mother, and to work on her taxes each year. I always enjoyed her, and appreciated her disposition and personality. I will miss her.
I'm also happy that we've been able to watch each others' families grow, even if through Christmas cards.
Miss you guys. Best wishes, even if in a sad occasion.
