My sincere condolences to all of Alice's family. We had been friends since the seventh grade. One summer we worked at Bournes Restaurant in Glen Arbor. She was the only one with a car. We often went to the Drive-In in Honor after working until 9:00. From there, we usually went to the Sandwich Grill in Traverse City for a hamburger. By the time we returned to Glen Arbor, it was often light. We quickly rinsed our nylon uniforms, hung them on the line then went to bed for a few hours before returning to the restaurant for another day's work. Over the years, we never were out of touch both by letters and the phone. I have to admit, Alice was better at that than I ever was. I'm particularly pleased that her son, Jim, was always there to help when she needed him. Thanks, Jim, for taking her to the class reunion last year. I wasn't there but many who were said how pleased they were to see her. Without Alice, there probably wouldn't still be class reunions. Sincerely, Janet Crawford

I am deeply saddened to hear of Alice's passing. As school friends Alice and I shared many good times. After graduation she introduced me to Elden, the love of her life. They were so happy.  Alice never forgot her school friends and kept them close for 59 years making hundreds of calls and writing numerous letters and arranging many class reunions.  As time went on Alice struggled to keep in touch. I received my last card from Alice two days before Christmas thanking me for books that I had sent. She was a part of our lives and we will miss her so.  My sincere condolences to the family.  Jeannette Nachazel Lackey

Alice and I shared many years at the Red Lion together and always kept in touch. When she moved from her house we lost track. It is sad we didn't have one last "share", but God knows the time and place, not us. May His love wrap you in His arms and bring comfort in the memories we have of Alice. Mary Mac (and Bob)

It was such a joy to see Alice at the class reunions every year and see all the fine work she did. We will miss her very much. Please accept our love and prayers at this time of your loss.
