I feel very blessed to have known such a good man, Barry truly cared about the people around him. He always encouraged my singing, whether it be in church or doing a performance, and I felt honored that he did. My condolences to all of the family and Barry's many friends.  Phil Becker

Not knowing Barry very well, didn't make a difference when it came to feeling and knowing he was a caring, kind and gentle person. Enjoyed his CD, "Sailing On", many times, with the words coming back to us as we drove past "Vesty's Meadow" or thought about the Emerald Isle's first voyage to Beaver Island, all the way from Maine. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Mary Lee and Tammy (not acquainted with the rest of your family) and the grands who apparently adored him. His memory will live on in you! Alan & Kathy Brouard

For many years a designer with Warren Associates for Sligh Furniture Company, I appreciated so much about Barry: He was a talented designer, springing from an insightful understanding of what people like and the artful craft of making beautiful products. He was an interesting conversationalist with a love and interest in history and the arts. Barry explained the history of a Sligh chinoiserie desk design: 18th century English ships brought tea back from China in beautifully decorated boxes that were as popular as the tea itself. Chippendale commissioned French artists to similarly decorate some of his furniture designs. Chinoiserie is a French word meaning Chinese decoration. We used that interesting history that Barry unearthed in a successful national advertising campaign. Beyond his many professional talents, Barry had a quiet wit and a gentle manner. I will always remember him fondly.
