Marie Wisnewski

March 6, 1942 ~ April 17, 2017

WISNEWSKI, MARIE ELIZABETH (GODLESKI) March 7th, 1942 - April 18th, 2017 A Letter to the World: Dear World, Today, a sweet soul was taken suddenly from us to rest in the loving arms of the Risen Jesus. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother of eight children, proud grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of a new little boy, Calixto James. Marie was a generous woman, a gift-giver, kind and happy, feeding and caring for family and friends. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She knitted or crocheted scores of afghans, pot holders and washcloths for everybody. She always had a row of candy jars on the counter for any child who came around. Her home was a warm and welcome place for man or beast. Even the dogs and grand-dogs got Christmas and birthday presents. She was an excellent cook and talented cake decorator, creating hundreds of amazing and beautiful wedding and birthday cakes over the years. She leaves behind her children: Lisa and Steve Nawrocki, Mary Jane and Roger VanTil, JoAnn Wisnewski and friend Dareck Brown, Becky and Mike Pettit, Sara and Eric Olson, Jim and Nicole Wisnewski, Amy DeBoer and Tom Wisnewski. Her grandchildren: Nick Nawrocki and Sarah Vesely, Emily Evers and Chris Milostan, Jake Evers and Gladys Baizan and great-grandson Calixto Evers, Shaelyn Evers, Sierra Pettit, Savannah Pettit, Eden Wisnewski and friend, Jake Klapko, Gabrielle Wisnewski, James Wisnewski III, Joseph Wisnewski, Allison Wisnewski, Thomas DeBoer and friend Hannah Tripp, and LilyJane DeBoer and friend, Nolan Pelfrey. She was Godmother to several of her relatives and to the five VanBeynen boys: Miles, Levi, Crew, Elliot and Finley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Barb Godleski, brother Tom Godleski and brother Greg and Margie Godleski, and many nieces and nephews. To greet her in paradise are her father and mother, Ted and Jane Godleski, brother, Ted Godleski Jr., in-laws, Val and Florence Wisnewski, nephew, Fred Marklevitz and friends, Shirley Lothschultz and Tom Doyle. Visitation will be at church on Friday from 5 to 9 pm with a rosary at 8:30 pm, and one hour before the Mass celebrating her life at 11:00 am Saturday at Assumption BVM church, Belmont. You don't have to send flowers, because she always had flowers on her table to appreciate while she was alive. If you would like, please donate to the Consolata Sisters or to the Assumption Educational Endowment Fund. I thank you God, for the gift of this wonderful woman's life to me over the last 53 years. Peace to all, Jim (Mr. Jim) Wisnewski p.s. My condolences to Jim Wisnewski. His brother Mike was my best friend from grade school at St Isidore's to college at Aquinas. I was a friend to Jim and Marie many years ago and followed Jim's accomplishments a a teacher. When Mike moved to Alaska I and mother Wisnewski died I lost contact with the family. But I still remember Mike, Jim and Marie with great fondness. I am so sorry for your loss.  Joel Burke (born Bernaciak)  581-6705 .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Uncle Jim, Lisa, Mary, Joann, Becky, Sara, Jimmy, Amy, Tommy, and all spouses, children, and 1 (great) grandchild, I am so sorry for your loss. My greatest memories of Aunt Marie are from when you visited us for a short time in the summer of one of our childhood/teenage years. I remember how she received and responded, received and responded repeatedly. Her model of being present to her husband and children by listening and answering in word or action has stuck with me as something to emulate. She leaves a warm, comforting, (heart and spirit generous) legacy for me. I realize her legacy to you is infinite, always revealing itself to you, so I am especially sorry for your great loss, yet I am also hopeful that her ongoing magnitude in your lives will comfort you. Much Love and Prayers, Jenny

Mr. Jim,  I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your wonderful wife, best friend, and life partner.  What a model family you have, and how much your entire family will miss her.  I thoroughly enjoyed my Art Classes with you at CC. Whenever I talk about High School, I tell everyone that I majored in Art. Art AP, Art 1, and Art 2. I loved our Art Classes…and you were my favorite teacher. It's great that you have a loving family to carry on with.  My deepest condolences to all of you.  Paul Dinkel Class of 1977

My brothers, Denny, Patrick and I quit drinking 35 years ago and usually the first Saturday of the year we go out and celebrate the accomplishment. One of our traditional stops is Menards. It's kinda funny that many times throughout the years we would run into Jim and Marie there. We would all exchange hugs and a few comical comments.  Marie will be missed for sure…  Jim, we will be praying for comfort, peace and understanding for you, the children and grandchildren.  Love and Blessings,  Fred Ignatoski ><>

We have lost a beautiful woman, but that is heaven's gain. She will be watching over her Jim and her entire extended family till she comes to take each one to her heavenly home. It will probably be crowded with gardens of flowers and vegetables and bunnies and chickens. She made her home here full of love and comfort and her presence will always be felt. Love never dies, just expands. Marie and her family will always be blessed by her short time here, but more with her heavenly guidance. She will always be an inspiration of Christian motherhood and marriage for all who knew her.  Linda and John Schwartz Assumption BVM Church

Dear "Mr. Jim", We appreciate all the love and service that you and Marie gave to Catholic Central for so many years. It was always a joy to see the two of you together as an example to today's world of what the sacrament of marriage was meant to be.  We pray for you and your family as you give Marie back to God.  Our love and prayers, Mary and Bill Passinault and Family

Dear Jim and family,  We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Marie. I had a chance to go through the posted family pictures taken throughout the years and even though I didn't know Marie personally, her smile was beautiful and her life was very full of love. You were blessed with an angel who is now in heaven with our Lord. Our prayers are with you and your entire family during this difficult time.

Marie and Jim made and great team and together raised a wonderful family. The children love and support each other, and that is due in large part to Marie's love and selflessness. She was the true heard of the household.  And Marie truly loved and supported Jim. From the earliest days of Paul Bunyan on the kitchen table to having a new log house built around and over her head with sand for a floor, Maris still loved and supported Jim. She was a marvel.  Even though we are 2000 miles away, Marcy and I will miss her and miss our hour long phone talks with Jim and Marie.  She's gone for now, Jim, but I bet she's still got your back.
