Reilly - Mrs. Rosejean Reilly, 90, of Wyoming, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Mrs. Reilly was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Reilly; her parents; Ignacio and Maria Calvaruso; her seven siblings, Anthony (Mary) Calvaruso, Vincenza (Lawrence) Sorrentino, Frank Calvaruso, Ann (John) Haveman, Marianne (Donald) Kapla, Lena Calvaruso, Jack Calvaruso; her husband’s siblings, Mortimer (Babe) Reilly, Norman Berglind, Patrick Reilly. Rosejean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jean (Jim) Krzewski, Amy (Dan) Haynes, and Dan Reilly; her grandchildren, Valerie, Kevin, Natalie, Bridget, Isabelle, Matthew, Stephanie, Zachary and Joshua; sisters-in-law, Rosina Calvaruso, Anne Calvaruso and Mary Frances Berglind; and many dear nieces and nephews. She graduated from South High School in 1945, in the top of her class. Rose became a well known soprano soloist in cantatas, weddings and funerals in Churches throughout Grand Rapids. As a young woman, she worked in her parents’ grocery store “Calvaruso’s”, moving on to work in many various careers at Bissell, St. Mary’s Hospital, Lear and then finally returning to the grocery business in which she began, retiring from D & W Food Stores after her many years of service. Rose loved hosting her family, large as it was, for delicious meals in her home and at Sandy Pines. She loved her weekly lunch dates with relatives and friends. She was always present for her 9 grandchildren, attending many concerts, sporting events and plays, until dementia robbed her of these capabilities. She survived 13 years after her dementia diagnosis, the first 7 years at home with her beloved husband and son, and the last 6 years at the Laurels of Hudsonville, where she received loving care from the staff. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM Wednesday March 29, 2017, at St. Pius X, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville. The family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 6 to 8PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Wyoming, 3131 S. Division Ave., Rosary will be held at 7:30PM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
