Dear Greta,  My mom Trudy Vonkeman and I recall meeting you and your husband at the Gushul Studio in Blairmore, Alberta, where we visited you with my late father, your cousin, Wim. We were reminiscing about the past, and family connections, and your and Chris's names came up. We are sorry to read of his passing. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.  Anine Vonkeman

Chris was a great artist but more importantly he was a great man - When Karen and I would cross paths with Chris we always left him feeling more positive and upbeat and, in general, in a better mood.  Our thoughts and prayers are with your family members and friends. Thank you for all you have done for our community.  Gary and Karen Paul               w

Chris was a master, a wonderful and knowledgable mentor to me when I became a docent at the GRAM. He was always encouraging, and complimentary with suggestions about works of art I was totally unfamiliar with. A most gracious man, whose ability to transmit his knowledge will be missed.
