I am profoundly saddened by Eric's passing. We were work colleagues when he and Gwen lived in Atlanta. Though I knew him for too short a time, I never forgot his infectious optimism and the sense of innocence and wonder that he kept through whatever challenges he faced. I always remember him at this time of year when the football/soccer season is getting started in England. The loss of such a kind and gentle soul diminishes us all.
