Middleville—- Howard Loyd Zoet, 87, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 3, 2017. He leaves behind his children, Butch and Kathy Zoet, Stephen and Jill Zoet, and Mark and Chris Zoet; one sister; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was welcomed home by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Ann whom he missed deeply since she passed three short months ago. He longed to be reunited and we rejoice that they are whole again. He was a beloved teacher at Caledonia Community Schools for over 20 years. He was a teacher both professionally and personally. He was always ready to help educate; students, children, and grandchildren. He loved to learn, and instilled that love in his family. He lived a fascinating life working with aircraft, traveling cross country, and building houses. He was not a person to sit still long and found joy in his little building projects and visiting family on a daily basis. He left behind a great legacy that will continue to live on in his family unit that so loved him. We extend our sincere gratitude to Kindred Hospice who went over and beyond in their care in his final months. A visitation will be held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street, Grand Rapids SE on December 14 from 4pm-6pm with a Celebration of Life service following. Donations can be made to Caledonia Education Foundation and Kindred Hospice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Howard Loyd Zoet please visit our Sympathy Store.
