I am so sorry for not being there when you might have needed me little brother. The kindness and love you shared with everyone always made me smile when I was in the midst of your sharing your kindness. May you rest peacefully and many continuing memories up there brother. God bless and huge hugs to all of your families.

You will always have a special place in my heart Jerry, of all the fun times we had growing up together, and when I had to babysit y’all sometimes things got crazy. We had a blast though! Wouldn’t change it for anything in this world. You were always such a sweetheart, caring and compassionate and loving. But most of all I will miss those most wonderful hugs that you gave! I love you Jerry!

Jerry was kind and soft spoken and I will miss him. I am deeply thankful to The Lord, that Jerry was moved to confess Jesus as his Lord and Savior in my presence and that I had the joy of baptizing him into Jesus Christ on October 26, 2016. I'll never forget the hug he gave me at his last worship service at Kentwood Christian Church and his words to me after my sermon, "I love you Patrick!" Jerry, thanks for your friendship and I'll see you again on God's golden shores! Love Pastor Patrick Gill

I moved away from Michigan in 2006 and haven't seen Jerry since, but when I lived in Grand Rapids, he was a good buddy and we had a lot of good times together. My favorite memories of him are attending him and Sam's wedding (and the crazy party that ensued), hanging out in the garage at his first house, and drinking beer around a bonfire with him so many times. I remember him being incredibly nervous and excited to become a dad, and me, only a couple years older (but already a dad), trying to give him advice without really knowing what I was doing myself. He didn't need my advice. His caring nature made him a great dad and he didn't even know it yet. RIP my friend.

We are So sorry for your loss! Jerry generously helped us after our daughter was in a car accident, moving her things from her apartment to our place. That was a real kindness to our family.
