Jordan C. Kolenda aged 34 of Grand Rapids passed away Friday, April 3, 2020. Jordan is survived by his children, Taylor, Carter, Mackenzie and their mother, Casey; his father, Brian (Carol) Kolenda; mother, Janice (Robert) Byrne; grandparents, Ron and Shirley Kolenda, Rose Kerns and Lorna Van Til; sister, Jessica VanPortfiet; brothers, Rory (Katie) Byrne, Sean Byrne and Addison Kolenda; nieces, Emerson, Raelynn and Ashlyn; his girlfriend, Eva Canon; and a host of extended family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his Uncle Jeff; cousins, James and Chase; and his best friend, Dustin. Jordan will be remembered first and foremost for his love of his children, he loved being called “Dad”. He was a hands-on father who beamed with joy in their presence. With his creative mind, he was able to do about anything with his hands, especially in woodworking. He showed his loyalty and support to the Ohio State Buckeye’s, even when his loyalty was not popular with family and friends. His smile lit up the room, followed up by his quick wit. People were drawn to his fun loving and joking spirit with his personality he could make just about anybody laugh. Jordan was a big kid at heart who took joy in the simple things in life. Most of all, Jordan was an honorable and selfless man putting everyone before himself. Jordan’s kind spirit and tender heart will be greatly missed. A celebration of Jordan’s life will be held at a later date. I remember talking with you a lot over the last year. Especially the last few months with the ups and the downs, but you really started working your program and started making strides. I miss you, man. You’re one of us.
