PIATEK - Lawrence Michael Piatek, age 69, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Logan; father-in-law, Richard Apsey; step father-in-law, Carl Nielsen. Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ranel Piatek, children, Peter (Kimberly) Piatek, Jason (Lisa) Piatek; grandchildren, Sarah, Sydney, Jenna, and Samuel Piatek; brother, Gary Piatek; sisters, Eleanor Apel, Elaine Zylinski, Evelyn (John) Kneibel; mother-in-law, Dolores Nielsen; brothers-in-law, James (Shawn) Apsey, Martin Apsey; sister-in-law, Sandra (Ron) Wheeler. Larry always put his family first. He was recently given a “Best Grandpa” award by his grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 1 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6390 Belmont Avenue NE, Belmont. His family will greet relatives and friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont and one hour prior to mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Consolata Missionary Sisters.
