SAFRANSKI - Mary Safranski (nee McPhilamy), age 90 of Belmont, went to be with her Lord on November 21, 2018. Mary was known to many as “the prayer warrior”. She touched so many lives with her gentle spirit, strong faith, compassion and love. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Carl. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Pettinga and Linda (Mark) Shaltz; grandsons, Robert (Jennifer) Fortuna and Joshua Fortuna; great grandchildren, Bryce, Rileigh and Hannah Fortuna; adopted daughter, Kathy (David) Ridout and their children and grandchildren. Mary brought genuine happiness and love to everything that she did, and she will be greatly missed but always in our memories. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6390 Belmont Ave NE, Belmont, MI. Mary’s family will greet relatives and friends Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. Prayers of the rosary will be recited 7:00 PM at the funeral chapel.
