August Frederick Vander Wall

August “Augie” Vander Wall, age 99, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022, and went to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johanna. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Renee and Ray Griffen, Fred and Kathy Vander Wall, Rick and Jonell Vander Wall; grandchildren, Rob and Maria Vander Hart, Aaron and Christa Vander Wall, Chad and Amanda Vander Wall, Jonathon and Bethany Vander Wall, Eric and Kristeen Vander Wall; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gerri Pipping; and many nieces and nephews. Augie proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Chad Boorsma officiating. Burial will be held at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, September 14, from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Manor for their excellent and loving care of Augie. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice or Guiding Light.
