Beverly Faye Karel

Beverly Karel, age 69, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024. Beverly was a loving sister, aunt, and great aunt. Beverly loved animals, and enjoyed volunteering at John Ball Zoo for many years. She received the volunteer of the year award in 2001. The animals all loved being cared for by Beverly. She also enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time, and excelled at cooking wonderful meals. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Clara Karel; brother, Evan Clare Karel. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Donald Leigh Karel, Keighly Adam Karel; nieces and nephew, Kelli Ann Karel, Katelin Claire and Tyler Scott, and Nathaniel Evan; great-nephew, Andrew; and great-nieces, Layla, Mila, and Laynie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 3131 Division Avenue South, Wyoming; with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
