Bonnie Doreen Thompson

Bonnie Doreen Thompson, age 81, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2021. Bonnie was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Society as well as the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed corresponding with friends, traveling, playing euchre, and taking care of her cats, Miss Tramp and Mr. Dash. She also enjoyed collecting, such as lighthouses, cats and clowns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Dobbyn. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Derrinda Kirby, Darren and Darcy Cornell; grandchildren: Darren Cornell Jr.,Jasmine Thuc, Jessica Behrens, Matthew Cornell, Kelsey Cornell, Carl and Justine Cotton, Drew Cornell; great grandchildren: Emily, Yar ,Allie and Ati; also survived by her close friends: Marilyn, Pearl and Melanie; and many friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr., Belmont, with Rev. Zach McNees officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family Thurday from 12 - 1p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Blythefield Memorial Gardens.
