Carol Poll

July 1, 1953 ~ February 3, 2023

Carol Ann Poll, age 69, of Grandville, departed this life peacefully into the presence of God and her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 3, 2023. Carol was born on July 1, 1953, grew up in Hudsonville, and spent her entire life in West Michigan. After graduating from Unity Christian High School, she completed nursing school at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She devoted her life to caring for others, both in her career as a registered nurse and in her family life as a caring and devoted spouse, mother and grandmother. She freely volunteered her time to the ministries of Cottonwood Church in Jenison including teaching Sunday School and leading youth group for many years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is now reunited with her mother and father, Matilda and Marvin DeWeerd and many other dear family members and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Jim Poll; children and grandchildren, J.R. and Jenna Poll (Zachary, Audrey), Lisa and D.J. Vander Slik (Dane, Ty, Chase, Nash); brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Linda DeWeerd, Doug and Mary Jo DeWeerd; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dianne Kooiker, Judy and Jay Miglore, Jack Poll, and Mary Poll; many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the compassionate medical care Carol received from many healthcare providers over the last four-and-a-half years especially her Faith Hospice nurse, Katie, and other Faith Hospice providers. A celebration of Carol’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Dr, Jenison, with Rev. Steve DeVries and Rev. Matthew Palsrok officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, February 5, from 2-5 p.m. at the church and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Jenison Christian School (https://www.jenisonchristian.org/support/giveonline.cfm) in honor of Carol’s dedication to Christian Education.

The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed via this link: https://www.cottonwoodcrc.com/poll

My heart goes out for you Sir. I can only say: Heavenly Father, please care for this brother and his family in this time of grief. May You watch over them in the hours, days, months and years as time moves along. May the great memories and love that was shared endure until the time when all are reunited again. Lord, hold each of them close to you so that the warmth of Your presence is unmistakeably felt. In Jesus precious name, AMEN Jim, if you would, please send the link of the information that JR created as was mentioned during the service. I must say that my eyes sweat somewhat as I heard the service progress. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) Blessings to you all. Ken
