Carolyn Scoby went home to Jesus on March 16, 2021 at age 71.
Carolyn was born to Joseph and Floris Coon on May 25, 1949 in Muskegon, MI. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Carolyn was an active member of Central Wesleyan Church in Holland, MI. She was also a long-time volunteer at Lakeshore Pregnancy Center in Holland. Teaching was one of her passions, and she taught K-12 for many years as well as Sunday School. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Carolyn joins her father, mother, aunt Joyce Leckrone, and sister Glenna Green in Heaven. She is survived by her daughter Lori Scoby (Chris Wells), her beloved dog Gabby, brother Pat Coon, nieces Amy Thrailkill, Brenda Smith and Amanda Coon (Derek Newell), nephew Aaron Coon, great nieces Chyanne and Lexie Smith and Madison Newell, and great nephew Joey Thrailkill.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Holland.

I am so sorry to hear this but so thankful our Mrs. Scoby is at peace and healthy again! I am so sad that I lost touch with Mrs. Scoby this past year; grateful that I could help when Gabby was injured. I will miss her dearly. I am hoping to attend her service.

I have wonderful memories of Carolyn being a great prayer warrior while volunteering with her at Lakeshore Pregnancy Center.  She was an interesting person and I enjoyed talking with her about life and her relationship with God.  I well remember her bringing Gabby to the Center in a basket while a tiny puppy to sit at her feet while she volunteered at the receptionist desk.  She was a valuable asset to the Center and a loyal friend, faithful prayer partner to all who were privileged to know her.  So sorry for your loss and am resting in the fact that we will see her again someday in Heaven.
