Charles Robert VanDyke

March 3, 1954 ~ August 24, 2021

VANDYKE, CHARLES ROBERT, age 67, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Fyfe) VanDyke; brother-in-law, Gary Hesburn; and his parents. Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law: Susan and David Schildhouse, Cynthia Hesburn; many nieces and nephews: Michael Schildhouse (Zach and Chase), Mark Schildhouse, Jeffrey and Tricia Schildhouse, Kathy and Hector Leal (Aaron and Jeanette, Shannon and Sam), Kari Bucher (Caleb and Emily (Annaleigh, Addison), Ben, Rachel, Bo), Kelly Hesburn and Aaron Canto (Samantha, Jackson); brother, Tom Van Dyke; and many good friends. Charlie always loved talking and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr., Belmont. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie as a medic for Rockford Ambulance. Always knew I’d be taking care of the patient and he’d be driving so he didn’t get car sick . Rest In Peace my friend .
