Dear Family. I don't know most of you but I knew Dennis when he was a little kid. I used to help babysit both Richard and Dennis and I saw Richard at my brothers funeral last Friday, I extend my deepest sympathy to all of you. May God be with you in this time of sorrow and starting over.

Denny was a singular man. I was so very lucky to call him my friend. He had a way of putting a person at ease. I don't know if he learned that through his work over the years or if it came naturally to him. Either way it was a true gift. In business he made sure obligations were met. He never left me hanging.
Socially he put a lot of effort in keeping things cheerful and light. Which made him fun to be around. Like all of us he faced difficulties in life, but he did not appear to outwardly dwell on them much. There is a lot of Denny that I will try to emulate in my life.

I am very sorry to hear the news about Denny and our condolences to Mary and his entire family. I had the pleasure to know Denny for allot of years. My fondest memories are the escapades on the Jimmy Buffet party bus going to the concert in Chicago. Denny of course was in the middle of most of those! He could light up any room that he entered with his gregarious nature. He also did a very good impersonation of a cop/detective that once left a friend of mine shaking in his boots! On a serious side, I have had MANY discussions with Denny about life/family in general and can attest that he was a very caring and giving person who cared deeply for his family. He could set anyone at ease in any social situation but deep down he cared for others. Denny will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Mary and family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of Dennis’ passing. I could not have asked to be neighbors with a better man. God puts every person in someone’s life for a reason, and Denny is no exception. I could feel his love and care for me every time I was around him, whether that be from a young kid riding my bike up and down Bellevue, to now coming home during seminary breaks. He would always ask me how I was doing and if my studies were doing well.
Please know that myself along with all the priest and seminarians of St. John Vianney College Seminary are praying for you in your time of grief, as well as for Dennis to be greeted with the open arms of Christ in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Love and Peace, David Shamblin
