Dick Palsrok

Dick Palsrok, age 86, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Dick was a devoted father and grandfather, with a deep love for his family. He graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School and attended Calvin College, before going on to earn his degree in physics from the University of Michigan. He spent many years working at Lear Siegler, all while being an active member of his church. One of his lifelong passions was his involvement in the local pigeon racing club, a pursuit that fueled his independent spirit. Dick was an avid fan of his favorite sports teams, but it was his generous spirit and unique sense of humor that left a lasting impression. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lois; sister and brother-in-law, Nadeen and Jim Sandin; brother-in-law, Ralph Edward Boeskool; sister-in-law, Elaine Haglund. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tenda and Rod Tjoelker, Barb and Roy Zuidema, and Laura Palsrok; grandchildren, Elise and Matthew Tjoelker; granddog, Shortstop; sisters, Sharon Boeskool, Brenda and Craig DeWind; brother-in-law, Wally Haglund; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Hank Vlaardingerbroek officiating. Burial Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
