Douglas Hal Caszatt

Douglas Hal Caszatt, age 73, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born on May 4, 1950 in Grand Rapids, the second child of five. He graduated from Wyoming Park High School and was active in sports and the National Honor Society. Doug graduated from Michigan State University and was an avid Spartan fan throughout his life. He enjoyed playing many sports, including softball, racquetball, and golf. He was an excellent cook and a master of numbers. Doug worked as a financial controller for several companies throughout his life in various states and even internationally in Nigeria and China. He found interest in learning about the cultures and people of other countries. When not working he cherished his time with his beloved wife, Dona, on their various adventures together raising their family. He will now be reunited with her in Heaven. Doug will be greatly missed and cherished by his children. He was preceded in death by his adored wife of 48 years, Dona; brother, Bruce Caszatt; and parents, Clinton and Adele Caszatt. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Kirt (Sydney) Elkins, Jillian Yancho, Halisen (Dale) DeMann, Megan (Melissa) Caszatt; grandchildren: Brad (Rachel), Shelisa Parker (Maxwell), Alexandra Elkins, Brandon Elkins, Nicole Nitschke, Jacob, Annalise and Grace Yancho, Kendall (Ivan), Israel, Lucas (Jazmyne), Peyton (Yvonne), Mitchel (Anna) and Elijah DeMann; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Dr Clinton F. Caszatt (Jane); sisters, Rosemary Caszatt-Orloske (George) and Kittie Caszatt-Morton (Chris); brother-in-law, David (Nola) Van Dyk; sister-in-laws, Jorja Krepps, Lori (Gary) Charles; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI with Dr Clinton F. Caszatt officiating. Burial services will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet the family for visitation prior to the service on Saturday, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions can do so to Livingston County Spartans (Textbook Scholarship Fund). Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.
