Ellen Marie Jakeway

Ellen Marie Jakeway, age 62, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Ellen graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University. She loved her Boston Terriers, gardening, interior design, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Ethel Adair; brother, John Adair, and her nephew, Daniel J Watters. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John Jakeway; sister, Judy (Bob) Watters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Jakeways, Watters, and Grossenbachers.

Ellen was a sweet and caring person who never missed a “board” meeting. Our little group formed as a result of sending her off on a cruise with her intended. It’s gone on all of these years! By my count 20-25. Fun times. Rest in peace, like the peaceful person that you always were. Best to Jake and family.

Such a great sorrow that a kind and righteous person like Ellen left this earth before her time. Her humble disposition and radiant smile will be truly missed.
