Emoline “Emy” Dietz

Emoline “Emy” (Marlatt) Dietz, age 92, of Belmont, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 4, 2025.  She was welcomed into heaven by her husband of 60 years, Leslie Dietz; her son-in-law, Jerry Altena; and her grandson, Bobby Dietz.

Emy was a woman full of independence, faith, and love for her family. She was always active in her church and kept her faith close to her heart. Emy had a strong work ethic — she spent years working at Holland American Wafer Company and later retired from Dickinson Press. Whether at work, church, or with family, Emy lived with purpose and heart. She'll be remembered for her spirit, her dedication, and the way she always showed up for the people she loved.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Darwin and MaryLynn Dietz, Judy Altena, Tim and Marie Dietz, and Mike Dietz; her grandchildren, Tammy (Jim), Alicia (Jeff), Angie, Sonya, John, Bill (Beth), Mike (Michelle), Melissa (Charles), and Chris; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, May 8, at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont, with Pastor Amber Modena officiating.  Burial will take place at Sunfish Lake Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, May 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Bishop Hills for the love and compassionate care given to Emy during her time there. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Bishop Hills Activity Fund.
