Evelyn Bailey, age 105, of Middleville, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Evelyn was born in Bristol Pennsylvania and moved to Michigan as a teenager. Evelyn was a strong and independent woman who was very proud of her Sicilian heritage. She was also very proud of her family and made a point of putting them first, saying, “We may not always agree with someone but they are family so therefore we love them.” Evelyn’s love and devotion will be greatly missed. We know her faith and belief in God have her enjoying the company of all who have gone on ahead of her. We wish her much happiness. The family would like to thank Carveth Village for the exceptional care for Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack Bailey; son, John Bailey; sisters, Fan Jones, Ann Reynolds, Mary Bruno, Yolanda Bailey, and nephew, Tom Jones. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Frances (Jim Tobias) Bailey; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bailey; grandchildren, James Scott, Timothy Scott, Angela Bailey-Hollandsworth, Lisa Bailey-Bettis, John Bailey Jr.; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ava, and Caitlyn Hollandsworth, Bodie, Jackson, and Clara Bettis, Samuel, Audrey, and Charlie Scott; and special friend, Althea Edmonds. A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
