James Dennison

August 23, 1944 ~ December 4, 2023

James George Dennison “The Great”, age 79, of Byron Center, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 4, 2023. Jim was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived his life by example and glorified Jesus in everything he did. He had a deep faith in Jesus that was rooted in His word, which was demonstrated by the many versions of the Bible that he had. Jim was the spiritual leader not only to his family, but also to many friends. Jim was an Air Force Veteran, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. Jim was blessed with a strong work ethic which led him to a lifelong career in aviation. He worked for United Airlines for many years and retired from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Jim was actively involved in the churches he attended over the years using his time and talents to serve in both spiritual and administrative roles. Above all, his legacy of faith and family will be forever remembered. He was preceded in death by parents, Gerhardt and Florence Dennison; parents-in-law, John and Florence Banga; four grandchildren; and nephew, Gary J. Dennison. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Mardell Lynn Dennison; children, Renee’ Lynn and Eugene Roybal, Jayme Lynn Dennison Thompson and Jason Thompson, Dale and Kim Dennison, Dan and Adrienne Dennison; nine grandchildren; Michael Timothy and Alyssa Dennison, McKenzie Lynn Fiona Thompson, Nicholas James Roybal, Lorissa Rose Roybal, Abraham Ruben Roybal, Rachael Susanna Dennison, Caleb Daniel Dennison, Ruth Carissa Dennison, Johanna Joy Dennison; siblings, Gary Peter and Susan Dennison, John Charles Dennison; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda Banga, Sharon and John Rosendal; many loving nieces and nephews.
