James Clare Sala, age 91, of Wyoming, stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on August 27, 2021. Jim was a loving dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and great-great-grandpa. He was a Navy veteran during the Korean War. He worked at Lear Sigler for over 40 years, and he was an active member of LifeTree Community Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Castle; second wife, Mabel Sala; his parents, James W. Sala and Charlotte Stratton; his sisters, Patricia Eikhoff, and Delores Leslie; his son, Mark James; and his step-granddaughter, Linda Gail Dailey. He is survived by his children, James and Debra Sala of Comstock Park, Patricia and Jeff Elzinga of Grand Haven, Lori and Terry Emmons of Des Moines, IA, Linda and Kevin Hammill of Coopersville; stepchildren, Linda Kruger, Janice Buist, Lois and Gary Hesselink, Cathy and Randy Burden; his special love, Janice Edsal of Grand Rapids; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Hospice, Neil Fonger American Legion, or LifeTree Community Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 am at LifeTree Church, with Pastor Jeff Elzinga officiating. Burial at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave, Wyoming, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
