My condolences to Jean’s family.
Dear Jean, I wrote you a letter that probably has not arrived, or arrived just after you passed away. I still want to tell you that you look so Dutch, just like my mother Leny and my mother’s sister Nel, same hair, same lovely smile, probably bright blue eyes and blond hair before it turned grey. It must be the Dutch roots from the past. It is a bit weird perhaps, telling you this, and I’m really sorry we never had the chance to talk to each other. Did you ever go to The Netherlands, did you ever visited the house in Wierum where your father lived before he emigrated tot Grand Rapids? I think from the obituary that you had a happy life. I really hope so. Goodbye Jean.
