Jerald “Jerry” Ray Oppenneer, age 90, of Rockford went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn. He leaves behind his wife, Allora; two sons, Randy and Diane Oppenneer, Dan and Rae Lynn Oppenneer, daughter, Heidi Watts; brother, Bernard Oppenneer; five grandsons, Nathan and Jen, Jeffrey and Rikki, Justin, Tyler, Cody and Kelsey; one granddaughter, Allison; four great grandchildren, Hailey, Mason, Avery, RJ; two step-sons, Dave and Jill York, Dan York, and families. Jerry served in the US Air Force in the mid-1950’s. After that he started working for Union Bank where many name changes took place. He retired in 1995 from what is now JP Morgan Chase. Jerry was a very likable man; he would always help others that needed help. He had many friends and was the love of Allora’s life. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Alpine Baptist Church, 692 7 Mile Road NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321 with Pastor Doug Compton officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 12 noon until the time of the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Alpine Baptist Church.
