Jose Vera

June 5, 1926 ~ April 3, 2022

Jose Alberto Vera, age 95, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his son, Luis Alberto Vera; parents, Maria Isabel Vera and Andres Malave; brother, Jaime Vera; sisters, Rosita Vera, Baudia Vera. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Adelaida; children, Jose Eliud Vera, Jimmy (Juanita) Vera, Rosita Vera (Ezequiel Rodriguez), Carmen Maria Vera, David Vera; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carmen Vera; extended family and friends. Jose was a Godly man, reading and studying the Word of God. He was also gifted at composing and singing his original songs. The family will hold a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery. The handsome young man you see in this picture is my Grandfather. He is my mother's Dad. I didn't get to have as much time with him although he lived a very long beautiful life, like the rest of my family was fortunate to have had, because we lived long distance but that didn't change how much he loved me and the rest of his grandchildren. But I often was lucky to reach him on video phone him and could talk for hours because we love talk alot 🥺 My grandfather was The back bone to our family he gave us great and wise advice, explained to us how we should never have resentment towards one another to always love, take care of each other, forgive and to always have a relationship with God. He was devoted to his family and God. He was built strong all the way to his final days. I love and will Cherish everything he was to me, a wonderful grandfather. My grandpa was like a second father to me. He's was loving, caring and had a good sense of humor. Always giving me Godly advice and to stay out of trouble. I will always miss her so much but will always be remembered forever!
