Khanh Ba Tu

Khanh Ba Tu, age 88, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, December 15, 2023. Khanh was a loyal and supportive husband, brother, father, and grandfather to his family and an important icon in the Vietnamese community here in Grand Rapids. Khanh was a GRPS bilingual teacher for over 20 years and helped many Vietnamese families and their children transition to their new lives in Michigan. He also did charity work for the Buddhist temple he founded, Tam Quang Temple, in Wayland. He loved his family, going out for big dinners or hosting dinner parties in his home, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and 2 brothers, along with many other family members over the years. Khanh will be remembered by his wife, Ngoc; children, Phuc Tu and Loc Tu; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Tu and Huynh Thi Tu-Trinh; 2 grandchildren and many other members of his family. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, December 20 from 10 am to 7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and on Thursday from 9 am to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home, Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. The family requests no flowers or donations during the visitation or funeral service.
