Leanore Peterson

Leanore Peterson, age 86, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Leanore was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was blessed with an independent and adventurous spirit. Over the years, she enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband Peter to many different places. One of her favorite places was Mackinac Island, enjoying biking and the beautiful lilac bushes in early summer. This tradition continues today with her children and grandchildren. Leanore was the office manager at West Michigan Otolaryngology for over 40 years until her retirement. Above all, she was blessed with a servant’s heart and a generous spirit that will be forever cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Peter. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mark Peterson of San Antonio, TX, Maribeth and Vern Spoelstra of Mead, CO, Thomas and Susan Peterson of Grosse Pointe, MI; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Zach Kushner (Coralee, Gideon, Ava), Zach and Molly Spoelstra (Madeline), Bayard King, Noah Peterson, Colin Peterson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Shari Peterson, Jack and Kari Lanning, Joan Formsma; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Curt Walters officiating. The service will be available via livestream. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and doctors at Corewell Health for the care given to Leanore during her brief illness.
