Mom, this song is what I would want to play if we had had a funeral. It reminds me of the awesome grace our family has had in our lives and that even if we didn’t know it, Jesus was there.

There Was Jesus
Every time I tried to make it on my own
Every time I tried to stand and start to fall
All those lonely roads that I have travelled on
There was Jesus
When the life I built came crashing to the ground
When the friends I had were nowhere to be found
I couldn’t see it then but I can see it now
There was Jesus
In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Of where I been and where I’m going
Even when I didn’t know it
Or couldn’t see it
There was Jesus
For this man who needs amazing kind of grace
For forgiveness at a price I couldn’t pay
I’m not perfect so I thank God every day
There was Jesus
On the mountain in the valleys (There was Jesus)
In the shadows of the alleys (There was Jesus)
In the fire, in the flood (There was Jesus)
Always is and always was
I never walk alone

Mom, you told me I was the daughter you never had, and loved me as such. You waited for both the sons you loved so much- that meant the world to you- to be with you before you left this world. I’m so proud of you mom. You held on so you could talk to Bill, before you lost your voice, and then your sons held you as you went on to heaven. Your eyes that had grown dim shined with what you saw beyond. You were blind, but now you see!
-We both liked Tom Selleck, and now I’m hooked on watching the Blue Bloods show you loved. But better than Tom Selleck, now you are with Jesus, the Savior that loves you so much, and one day I’ll see you again. We will live in his perfect love together forever. You made it mom! You are home! I miss you, but I’ll see you in Glory when I get there.

Lynne, coworker and friend. You made coming to work an enjoyable thing, from our coffee gatherings before we started the work day to the lunches, and all the fun stuff in between. You were one of the best people to work with and learn from. Much love and rest well.

Oh Lynne, my sweet co-worker and friend, I will miss you so much. You were so great to work with at RDB. I have so many great memories of our years together there. Our many Christmas and tax parties, our fun Plainfield bar crawls, our many laughs on the job. And more recently, our lunches at Bud and Stanley’s. Life won’t be the same without you in it. I love you my friend. Rest well.
