Margaret R. Byker

December 15, 1928 ~ February 27, 2022

Margaret R. Byker, age 93, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; grandson, Robert Byker; brother, John Vander Woude; sister, Jane Redder; brothers and sisters in laws, Tom and Angie Redder, John Byker, Helen and Lambert Smitter, Kay and Robert Vander Bok, Stevena and John Scholten, Elizabeth and James Jansen, Dorothy and Gerry Van Manen, Loren and Betty Renkema. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen and Tim Folkertsma, Don and Donna Byker, Ken and Cindy Byker, Yvonne and Bill Cooper, Jayne and Scott Borst; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Florence Corson; sisters in law, Arlene Vander Woude, Myra Renkema; many nieces and nephews. Margaret loved her family, enjoyed time with her grandchildren and family, especially spending time at the cottage. She was a people person and gave of her time volunteering for a variety of ministries, in church, communities and at Holland Home. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, March 5, at Trinity United Reformed Church, 7350 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Caledonia, with Pastor Frank Guter officiating. Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, and from 10-11 am Saturday at church. Due to family health concerns, masks are being required to be worn at the visitation and at the funeral. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Bible Study Fellowship International or to Crossroads Prison Ministries.
