Marianne Huizenga

August 8, 1925 ~ July 15, 2022

Marianne E. Huizenga, age 96, of Jenison, passed from our arms to the arms of her Savior on Friday, July 15, 2022. Marianne inspired us spiritually and loved us deeply. Her faith was important to her; she had written notes of her favorite Bible verses strategically placed around her home. Marianne was a lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald B. Huizenga. Her love, smiles, and care will be missed by her children, DeAnne Fellows, Mary and Larry Hekman, Joni and Jack Bobeldyk, Dolene and Gary Lepsch, David and Vivian Huizenga, Thomas Huizenga, and Valeska Hilbig; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Bea Weaver; sisters-in-law, Vonne Visser, Alyce Huizenga; and many loving extended family members. Marianne’s family extends appreciation to each precious person on staff at Waterford Place Assisted Living who were gracious with their gentle help, kindness, smiles, and love. A special thanks to Kathy, her Faith Hospice nurse. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Sunset Legacy Foundation. A private family graveside service was held at Kent Memorial Gardens.

Always great memories of our dear sweet Aunt Marianne...a wonderful legacy of love and caring...so much like Grandma Dena Visser! Hugs to all of my cousins...may we be found faithful to be found together, gathered around His Throne, where there will be no more tears and no more goodbyes. Only worship, gratitude, and joy! Love you all! Pete and Mary Visser

It is such a sad time when we have to say good bye to our mothers. I still think of mine every day and miss her very much. We are thinking of all of you and keeping you in our prayers. We will always remember Aunt Marianne as a kind and gentle person. Always smiling and very sweet. Such a wonderful lady. And we are still enjoying her awesome carrot cake. Thank you Aunt Marianne., Love, Pete & Denise
