Marvin Sytsma

May 12, 1941 ~ March 5, 2024

Marvin Allen Sytsma, age 82, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior holding his wife Rosemary’s hand, listening to her read him devotions.

Marve was a man of few words…unless you were talking about furniture or hockey. 😊 That was because his love language was acts of service, so he showed his love through actions…things like building a shelf, repairing/reusing pretty much anything, painting a room, or helping with a project around the house. He loved reading stories to his grandchildren, playing games with them and attending their school and sporting events. He wasn’t perfect, but the blood of Jesus Christ covered him, forgave him and has made him perfect now! He would want you to know that this same love and forgiveness are available to each and every one of us, too!

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Jeanette Sytsma; and his two brothers, Howard Sytsma and Robert “Bob” Sytsma.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary; his children, Todd and Darla Sytsma, Scott and Ann Sytsma; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Abby Sytsma (Rosie, Cora, Jamison), Aubrey and Jon Knapp (Jace, Brady, Ashton), Tori and Ben Worley, Paul Sytsma, Ruth Sytsma, Eve Sytsma; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Howard) Sytsma, Mary (Bob) Sytsma, Carol (Tom) Fox, Charlie and Jackie Lemery, Donna and Ryan Belstra; and many nieces and nephews.

Come meet with the family for a time of visitation on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
