Nancy Kay Morton, 74, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 19, 2021. She was born to parents C. Russell and Thelma Neterer, on April 12, 1947 in Huntington, IN.

Nancy met her beloved, Daniel Morton, at Olivet Nazarene University (College) and they married August 27, 1966. This year they would have celebrated 55 inspiring years of marriage.

She was full of life and always on the go. She enjoyed planning elaborate Christmas gift hoaxes or scavenger hunts, white elephant gift exchanges, or new games she had learned about. There was scarcely a game she wouldn’t try; always convinced that she was the champion of them all. She enjoyed a good laugh, even if it was at her expense. “Pork Sandwiches!”

There was never an amazing deal that Nancy missed! She was always thinking of others and loved finding that perfect gift for someone.

Family was her favorite pastime. She would have moved heaven and earth to make way for family to be together. Not a game, performance, or event was missed if a grandchild was participating. She was the biggest cheerleader.

She strove to put Christ first in her life and her strong faith put the love of Jesus into action. There wasn’t a day that passed that she wasn’t looking for an opportunity to share the saving grace of Jesus through her hospitality, a kind word of encouragement, or one of her warm, infectious smiles that made her eyes sparkle. She had an enormous capacity to love and a lavishly generous heart. She modeled this love for her family by always being there for each of them. She will live on in our hearts and in her legacy. She will be forever missed, but Nancy knew Christ as her Savior and has a home in Heaven with Him. One day, if we know Him, we too will join her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents C. Russell and Thelma Neterer; and brother, Gary Neterer. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Daniel Morton; children and grandchildren: Kurt and Jill, Greta, Grant, and Elise Morton; Dana (Morton) and Edwin, Isabella, Eleanora, and Amelia Marino; and Chad and Jodi Cole, Ella, Reid, Nash and Sylvia Morton; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and their children, as well as countless extraordinary friends who are equivalent to family.

Nancy and Dan wanted to specially thank the doctors, nurses, and staff who were a great support to Nancy and served her well during the past couple of years.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Grand Rapids International Fellowship Church, 3765 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. A luncheon will follow at the church.

In remembrance of Nancy’s life, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in memory of Nancy to Remembrance Ranch by going to www.rranchmi.org.  More information about this charity can be found at www.remembranceranch.org.
