N. Marie Graham

Nellie Marie Graham, age 92, of Kentwood, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2024.  Marie graduated with her diploma in 1991 because she promised her mother she would do so.  She loved to go dancing and square dancing with her husband, John Orville, and also enjoyed traveling with him to places like Alaska and the continental U.S.  She married John Orville in Bakersfield, California, so his sister would be able to join them.  Later Marie loved playing Euchre with her many friends at the Wyoming and Kentwood senior centers.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Marr and John Orville Graham; son, Roger Marr; daughters-in-law, Jeanne Marr, Frances Marr; 1 brother, and many sisters. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Diane and Harry Cousineau, John (Traci Marshall) Marr, Edward Marr, Thomas and Rowena Marr; grandchildren: Kimberley Cousineau, Kristen (Jesse) Cousineau, Carmen Marie Ortiz, Jason Marr, Brian (Bridgett) Marr, Tracey Hartz, Tom Smith; many great grandchildren; sister, Cora Westhuis; special dear friend, Jim Obuchowski for his constant devotion to our mother….she loved every moment that she spent with him; Merle Nederveld for all the help and attention he paid to her…..your friendship was so important to our family; Audrey Carver for her friendship and phone calls….they meant the world to her; many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Holy Family Church, 9669 Kraft Ave., Caledonia, with Rev. Michael Cillibraise presiding.  Relatives and friends may visit the family on Thursday, August 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be held at Rosedale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice, Trillium Woods.
