Oscar Valdez

Oscar Valdez, age 68, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike O. Valdez Sr.; brothers, Mike Jr., and Jimmy. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Beatrice V. Valdez; brothers, Roy (Gloria), Ray (Nelda Salazar); sisters, Annie (Jim) Hoover, Alma Valdez; aunts: Grace Valdez, Armelina Valdez; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends; Mary Mancha, Wicky Alvarez, Carolina Villarreal, Mr. Daniel Navarro, Mr. Luis Ramirez. He retired after many years as a chef. He loved to dance and volunteered at local food pantries. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 4-7 pm at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 Division Ave, Wyoming. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Steven Cron, celebrant. Due to gathering restrictions, there will be a limit on the number of people who may enter the building at a time. Donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
