Patricia “Pat” Emaus, (Anthony and Adelaide Donahue) was born on June 20, 1930, a Grand Rapids native. She passed away on May 5th, 2024 after a sudden decline in her health. Pat was just shy of her 94th birthday. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and resident of the Villa Maria community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Emaus; son, Paul Emaus. Patricia and Bill were high school sweethearts in the graduating class of 1948 at Catholic Central High School. They married in 1951 and spent four years living in California before returning to their Michigan roots to raise their family including 5 Eagle Scouts (Bill also was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 204 for many years). Patricia Ann Emaus will be remembered for her endless generosity, her boundless energy, and her warm, comforting hugs. Patricia, affectionately known as “Mom” and “Grandma,” leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and relentless faith. She will be remembered by her children, Ron and Jan Emaus, Dave and Clare Emaus, Joe and Karen Emaus, Bruce Emaus, Ruth (Emaus) Beranek, Mike and Diane Emaus, Lisa (Emaus) and Jeff Peterson; 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She had a profound impact on her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her. “Say your prayers. Be good. Always do the right thing. Good nite. 🚂🚂🚂❤️😇💡”. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on Saturday, May 11 at Noon, with Father John Vallier officiating. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 27th at Brewer Park after a 9am Resurrection Cemetery Mass and Graveside visit. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to National Glaucoma Research.
