Paul Aaron Fraser

June 21, 1975 ~ April 17, 2022

Paul passed peacefully at Froedtert Hospital on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the age of 46.

Paul was born on June 21, 1975, in Grand Rapids, MI to Sally (née VanDrunen) and George Fraser, Jr.

Paul attended Orchard View Elementary School and Forest Hills Northern High School, where he met Nealy and they wed on May 17, 1996.

Paul attended Grand Rapids Community College and went on to Ferris State University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive and Heavy Equipment Management. He accepted a position at Clevite Engine Parts and moved to Manchester, Michigan. There Paul made many friends both in the community of Manchester and at his job.

In 2006, Paul accepted a new job at Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the family settled in Germantown. He enjoyed the years spent at Harley-Davidson and ended his career as Pricing Lead. He was also very proud to have attended Marquette University where he received a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialty in International Business. During his time at Marquette he took the opportunity to study in the Czech Republic and in doing so he created lifelong friends all across the world.

Paul fought a courageous battle against colon cancer for the past five years. He never let his sickness define him and he did his best to live life every day to its fullest.

Paul loved to ride his Harley (the latest named Sandy), play golf with his buddies with a “Dillhole dollar” on the line, and spend time with family and friends - always having a ‘bump’ (the more interesting and ‘tasteful’ the better). His heart was made of gold, generously giving whenever and wherever he could. Paul appropriately named himself Captain Awesome – and he was exactly that – AWESOME.

Paul is preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Van (VanDrunen), Grandpa and Grandma Fraser and his beloved Golden Retriever, Hero.

He is survived by his wife, Nealy Fraser; his daughters Kimberley and Nicole Fraser. He is further survived by his parents, Sally and George Fraser, Jr.; his brother, George Fraser, III; and his nephews, Jack and Travis Fraser and niece, Emily Fraser. He is further survived by many family and friends in both Michigan, Wisconsin and the Czech Republic. He will be deeply missed and Captain Awesome will continue to live on in each of us.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 1875 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield, WI, from 2:00-5:00 PM. A celebration of Paul’s life will begin around 4:15pm. A second Visitation will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 29th at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI, from 2:00 – 5:00pm. A short service and celebration of life will begin at 4:15pm and a private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward on behalf of Captain Awesome to a cancer warrior, survivor, or caregiver so they can treat themselves to a little something special to know they are not alone. Please share your gift via social media and tag #captainawesomecares
