Richard “Dick” A. Moore

May 5, 1930 ~ July 5, 2024

On July 5, 2024 Richard (Dick) A. Moore’s prayers were answered; he met his Lord and Savior, and was reunited with his beloved wife, Dolores in eternity. We are all so happy for him, but he will be dearly missed by his family, Tom and Linda Weaver, Fredrick and Pamela Plainte, Richard and Susan Moore; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

‘Dickie’ was born May 5, 1930 and would be the only child of Jeanette and Richard Moore. As a young boy he spent much of his summers in Leelanau County with his cousins picking cherries and hanging out with family. He and Dolores would raise their family in Grandville where he was always active in his church and the community. Eventually he and Dolores would move to Leelanau County where they would enjoy many years on the lake, sharing their home with family and friends.

Dick was employed at Keeler Brass Company in Grand Rapids for 46 years and was very proud of his time there. When he wasn’t working, he loved to travel and fish, taking many family trips over the years and catching many fish. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. All of whom have their own special memories with ‘Beach Grandpa’.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, July 15 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Les Wiseman officiating.  Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mary Free Bed

I remember Mr Moore as a nice man who 's wife Mrs Moore babysat me. They treated me like I was part of the family Monday-Friday. Once in awhile if Mrs Moore needed the car we'd drop him off at Keeler Brass and go in on one side out the other. It's a tad foggy.but I'm thinking a tan or light green car? He was always very nice. I didn't see him often and he wore a suit. I missed funeral, it may of been nice to see Linda, Pam and Rick. Great family! You know I adored your Mom

Our prayers are with you all on the Home Going of your Dad and Grandpa. I have many great memories of him. From deer hunt with my Dad and him in the Porcupine Mountains tent, trout fishing, and him being my little league coach. He is truly a man to be proud of and his life lived as a Christian example is meaningful to me. My mother (his cousin) often talked about when Dick stayed with Grandma (His Aunt) while they cared for his leg infection as a boy. When we were together he either talked about you kids, hunting together, and even Bills Lake. - Butch
