Richard Ralph Dykstra, age 71, of Grandville, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Rick was so kind to everyone he met, and exemplified Christ’s love through everything he did. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. He was Diane’s hero. Rick proudly served in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dykstra; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Jessie Christensen; and brother-in-law, Dan Christensen. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Diane; stepsons, Joe Westerling, and John Westerling; grandchild, Colton Westerling; mother, Grace Dykstra; siblings, Joanne VanderWilp, Barbara and Richard Dyk, Jim and Bonnie Dykstra, Elaine and Steve Bossenbroek; siblings-in-law, Jane and Leslie Wong, and Kris and Ray Baas; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. A special thank you to Barb, Dyk, Tina, and Brandon Wong for their loving support and to the wonderful caregivers at Lemmen-Holton and Spectrum. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3110 Barrett Ave SW, Grandville with Rev. Dan Naulty officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, November 20, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Tunnel to Towers.
