Richard M. Bogardus, age 93, of Byron Center, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He proudly served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He owned and operated the full service stations Dick’s Mobil and Dick’s Sunoco for many years. He was a skilled woodworker and artist, making several gifts for his family. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Joyce (Thieme) Bogardus; children: Richard Jr., Mark, Sandra and Brad Burns; grandson, Corey Burns; sisters: Lorraine Marsh, Madeline Chrystler, Andrea and Richard Vickers; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Madeline; brothers: Paul, Kenneth; sister, Audrey; brother-in-law, Paul Thieme Sr. According to his wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
