Roger Bruins

Roger Bruins, age 75, of Holland, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors and traveling with his family. He had a passion for many Christian organizations. He enjoyed mentoring others, whether in their personal goals or business goals. He also loved to joke around and had a great sense of humor. Roger truly loved and cherished his wife and best friend, Marty. Roger loved life, but most importantly loved God and being faithful to Him. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Arthur Bruins; parents, Clarence and Johanna Bruins; parents-in-law, Rev. Arthur C. and Marian Johnson; brother-in-law, Bill Hulst; and sister-in-law, Karin and Jay Dekker. Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Marty; children, Eric and Janette Bruins, Jen and Matt Viel; daughter-in-law, Emily and Steve Dyk; grandchildren, James and Sydney Viel, Grace Bruins, Seth Viel, Trent Bruins, Lucy Bruins, Braden Dyk, Zane Bruins, Carter Dyk, Luke Bruins; sisters, Edna Hulst, Arlene and John Strikwerda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Mary Johnson, Colleen and Phill VanStedum; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Rosewood Reformed Church, 2795 Rosewood St. Jenison with Pastor Austin Vondracek and Pastor Howard Moths officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday, March 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mel Trotter Ministries or Unity Christian High School.
