Ronald Julian Tomaszewski

Ronald Julian Tomaszewski, age 85, of Rockford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Ron was a kind and loving husband, dad, and grandpa who was blessed with a contagious personality and zest for life. Ron proudly served his country in the US Navy stationed in the Mediterranean on the USS Des Moines. He retired from General Motors Rochester Plant after over 30 years of dedicated service. Over the years, many family memories were made up north at the cottage. Ron embraced his Polish heritage and enjoyed polka dancing at many festivals. He was blessed with the gift of music and used his talents playing his accordion. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Mary (Arlene); children, John Tomaszewski, Jane and Neal Streeter, Karen Furman, Mary and Patrick Townshend, Karl and Cindy Tomaszewski, Rhonda and Bryan Walker; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Diane Tomaszewski; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers of Spectrum Health-Corewell Hospice for all the love and compassionate care given to Ron. Memorial services will be held at MKD Stegenga Chapel in Belmont and will be announced at a future date.
