Rose was a constant presence at Our Lady of Sorrows, very active in parish life.  However, one memory stands out in my mind.  It was Ash Wednesday a few years back.  I saw Rose looking my way and motioning to me.  Someone explained that another volunteer was needed to distribute ashes, and Rose wondered would I like to volunteer.  I had never done so before, but Rose gave me the opportunity.  It was a moving experience, for which I am forever grateful.  I knew her as soft spoken and friendly, with a gentle smile and bright eyes.  ...  Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.  Let perpetual light shine upon her.
