Rose Scribner, age 67, of Grand Rapids, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Boyd R. Cain III. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Amanda) Cain, Ernest (Rebecca) Brown, Michael Turner, John (Chloe) Scribner, Nikha (Khris) Idema; grandchildren, Destiny, Trinity, Serenity, Leni, Charlee, Ethan, Ryan, Zachery, Audrey; great-granddaughter, Winona; parents, Eva Marie Cain and Boyd R. Cain; siblings, Sylvia Lavengood, Perry Martinez, Boyd Cain Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held Friday, February 2, at 6 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Ricky Luong officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I grew up with Nikha; her and Rose lived on my same street. Rose provided a fun and safe place for us to play and be kids. She was an amazing neighbor with a loving heart. She had an unforgettable smile, which her picture proves. I'm so sorry she's gone too soon. I'm so grateful for her presence in my life as a kid. She will be missed by many.

You made a child feel like family even when I was an outsider. You were loving and warm hugs everytime I saw you. You made a difference in my life and you didn't even know it. I looked at you like the kind of strong woman I wanted to grow to be. You raised amazing children and loved them fiercely and everyone around you knew it. You have left an amazing legacy Rose. You will be missed dearly just know you carry on in all of us.

Rose had an amazing ability to warm every person she encountered, she has great wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. My condolences go out to all of Rose's family and friends. Even though I only met her a few months ago, her profound love for her family was heat felt. I still cannot believe. That such a beautiful woman is gone but never forgotten I know that people say she is no longer in pain, and that is true, but those same people forget that we are. Hurting for our loss Rosie I would like to thank you as I did when I saw you last for excepting me like family with no judgement. I have known Rosie since I was a little girl. She was a very kind hearted person. Though I was several years younger she always treated me as if I were a little sister and friend and did so to this day. I am going to miss her. Rest is heaven my Rosie.
