Scott James Balfoort

Balfoort, Scott James 51, of Grand Rapids, MI; born February 24, 1970 tragically passed away on March 23, 2021. He was reunited with his mother Gloria Balfoort and his brother Gerald Balfoort who preceded him in death. 

Scott is survived by his wife Christina Balfoort, and son Samuel James Balfoort; aunts Valerie Rissi and Diane Moon, uncle Lyle Kooienga, father William Balfoort and family. He had numerous cousins, in-laws and friends who will also miss him dearly. 

Scott had a passion and excitement for life like no other. He was so happy spending time with his son Sam, who was the love of his life. Scott was a kid once again playing video games with Sam and taking him to the park. He loved road trips, days at the beach and traveling on family vacations. His artistic creativity was shown through his passion for art, skill of graphic design, and love of tattoos. Scott’s artistic design will live on as permanent memories for those who knew and loved him. And in memory of Scott, “Go Lions!”

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Sept. 18th. from 1-5 p.m. at the Hughes Park Pavilion in Hudsonville. It is located at the corner of 40th. Ave. & VanBuren St., Hudsonville, Mi., 49426.
