Sharon Lettinga

January 17, 1939 ~ March 30, 2022

Sharon L. (Ipema) Lettinga, age 83, of Holland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 30, 2022. Sharon was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and moved to Holland in the early 1970’s. Sharon loved boating, car rides, traveling, and time with her puppy. She was an excellent cook and was known as “grandma gadget” and “grandma gravy”. Sharon was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Ipema; son, Jeffrey Ipema; daughter-in-law, Thelma “Tammi” Ipema; and stepson, Michael P. Lettinga. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandma who will be dearly missed by her husband, Wilbur A. Lettinga; children, Ben Ipema, Denise and Tim Tamminga, Diane and Brian Bartels; stepchildren, Bill and Rochelle Lettinga, Pastor Missy Lettinga, Cynde and Steve Damstra, Connie Lettinga and Robert Barto; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard and Elaine Olson; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Aardsma, Annamae and Richard VanderVelde; and her friend, Renae Torres-Mares; her faithful companion “Puppy”; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 W Lakewood Blvd, Holland, MI 49424, with Pastor Bill Lindner officiating. The burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later time. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Holland Christian Schools or a Christian school of your choice.

Sharon was a joy to know over a period of many years. She was cheerful and kind. She had a zest for life and contributed to enhancing the lives of her family, friends, and those who she interacted with her. Sharon will be missed.
