Sharon Rose VanOrman

November 14, 1940 ~ December 22, 2021

Sharon Rose VanOrman, 81, of Belmont, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 22, surrounded by her family. Sharon was a fighter all her life and up to the very end. Sharon was a strong woman; accomplishing her independence was important to her. She was a stay at home mother while raising her children, and later was proud to be working and providing for her family as a medical secretary for over 20 years. Her family was everything to her. She always made sure that Christmas was special and enjoyed baking cookies of every type to give away as gifts to others. Sharon will be remembered for her example of strength and perseverance and greatly missed by many for her laughter, hugs and big caring heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abram and Rosalyn Huyser; her former spouse, Claude VanOrman; sister, Henrietta “Jackie” Vincent and brother, Abraham “Bud” Huyser. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Glen (Cynthia) VanOrman, Diana Browning and Wayne VanOrman; grandchildren: Vanessa (Mark), Jared (Sabina), Desiree (Andrew), Alison and Zachary; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell Huyser, Frances Huyser, David Huyser; sister and best friend, Janet Burns; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr NE, Belmont, officiated by Pastor Bruce Wilson.
